The Property

Modern Tirolean.
Genuine antiques.

Landhaus Erika is a chalet inspired by Austria's Tirol region, across the street from Hotel Pension Anna, a family-run boutique hotel in Leavenworth, Washington. The interior is modern, but the details are not. Hand-painted Truhen wedding chests from the 1700s and 1800s, sourced from the valleys of Tirol. Cast-brass cowbells made by traditional foundries in Austria. A Haflinger ceremonial parade harness, handmade in leather and brass.

Every room has a fireplace. Four of five have private balconies with mountain or village views. The property is exclusively for adults 21 and over. And every morning starts with a Bavarian breakfast at Pension Anna, a short walk across the street.

What's in Your Room

Five suites. Five Truhen.
The oldest is from 1742.

Every room at Landhaus Erika has a genuine antique Truhe at the foot of the bed. These are original 18th and 19th century painted wedding chests sourced from the valleys of Tirol. The Solstice Suite's is from Alpbachtal, dated 1742. The Summer Suite's is from the Zillertal, 1804. Each one is from a different valley, and you can read the differences in the painting if you know what to look for.

The horse harnesses in the Solstice and Summer suites are handmade Bavarian parade pieces, the kind carried at Oktoberfest processions. The Alpine cowbell displays in the Spring, Autumn, and Winter rooms are cast brass with hand-engraved leather straps from small Tirolean workshops. All of it is real. None of it is decoration.

"Every Truhe in Landhaus Erika has a date painted on it. The oldest is 1742. Someone made it, someone owned it, someone carried it. Now you can sleep next to it."
